The Pottery & Glass Trade Benevolent Fund (now part of the Rainy Day Trust)

This charity has now merged with the Rainy Day Trust which helps past and present employees of the home improvement and enhancement supply industry. This includes people who have worked in the UK in retail, manufacturing or support functions for at least one year, and their dependents. Sectors include builders' merchants, housewares - including pottery and glass, DIY/hardware, garden and brushware trades.

Who is eligible?

The applicant or their spouse/partner must have worked for 1 continuous year at the same qualifying company.

What we can't help with

  • No grants are given to children
  • to people working in the steel or motor industries;
  • pet shop workers
  • welders.
