The Rochdale Fund for Relief in Sickness

Grants for people who have an illness, injury or disability and live in the borough of Rochdale. This includes Wardle, Littleborough, Middleton, Heywood, Norden, Birtle, Milnrow and Newhey, but not Whitworth.

Grants are for items such as:

  • mobility aids and wheelchairs
  • IT equipment
  • home adaptations
  • medical aids
  • financial assistance towards essential items such as washing machines, cookers, bedding
  • respite in the form of holidays or nursing aid
  • help for close relatives to visit or care for patients

Who is eligible?

People who have an illness, injury or disability and live in the borough of Rochdale (including Wardle, Littleborough, Middleton, Heywood, Norden, Birtle, Milnrow and Newhey). 

What we can't help with

  • Anyone who lives in Whitworth
  • Payment of debts, including utility bills, Council tax, Inland Revenue payments etc.
  • Hardship not directly relating to, or caused as a result of, sickness.

How to apply?

Individuals should not apply directly. Instead, a social services, a health visitor, a doctor or other appropriate third party should apply on their behalf.
