The Sir W W Butler Welfare Fund

The Trust gives educational grants to students aged 16 and over who who live in Birmingham and Smethwick. Grants are given to help students attend secondary school and further or higher education courses. 

The Trust does not give grants for Masters courses.

Grants are given for:

  • Course fees

  • Textbooks and equipment

  • Extra costs such as uniform and travel costs

Who is eligible?

Students aged 16 and over who live in Birmingham or Smethwick and need financial assistance with the costs of secondary school, further or higher education.

Please note: the charity does not give grants for Masters courses.

The deadline for applications is in June of each year. The Trust does not always respond to unsuccessful applicants.

The Trust also gives grants to people who are on a course related to the Brewing, Catering and Hospitality Management industries. Contact the Trust for more information.
