The Society for the Benefit of Sons & Daughters of the Clergy of the Church of Scotland

The Society provides grants children of Ministers of the Church of Scotland to help with their education. Applicants should be aged between 12 and 25. The society gives preference to families on a low income.

The Society also gives grants to unmarried or widowed daughters of Ministers, and unmarried sisters over 40 of ordained ministers.

Who is eligible?

  • Children of Ministers of the Church of Scotland who need financial assistance with their education
  • Unmarried and widowed daughters of Ministers of the Church of Scotland
  • Unmarried sisters of Ministers who are aged 40 or over. There is a preference for sisters who are older and have an illness.

How to apply?

An application form can be downloaded from the Scott-Moncrieff website

Applications should be sent in no later than 31 May each year and grants are distributed by early September.
