Grants for older people in need living in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon. The charity may also help people who live immediately outside the town in exceptional circumstances.

Grants are available towards paying for essential items and household items such as beds, support chairs, cookers, microwaves and white goods.

Who is eligible?

Older people in need who are of state pensionable age and have lived in the town of Stratford-upon-Avon for the last 18 months. Applicants must be receiving all of the benefits they are entitled to (e.g. housing benefit, pension credits, winter fuel allowance).

What we can't help with

We do not give grants for debts, rent or council tax arrears. We do not give rental deposits. We do not give grants for household items or mobility aids that people can get from statutory sources such as social services.


How to apply?

Call or email the charity for an application form. If you are applying for a grant in connection with a specific health condition, you should include a letter of support from one of the following: GP, Occupational Therapist, Nurse for Older People, Warwickshire County Council Adult Health & Community Services, etc.

Other information

The charity also runs low-cost, self-contained residential homes for people who are of state retirement age and above. In certain circumstances, the trustees are able to consider individuals aged 60 years and over.

Applicants should live within the town boundary of Stratford upon Avon although the charity sometimes considers individuals/ couples living within the District. Please note that applicants need to be in financial need and must be able to care for themselves.
