Small pensions for merchant seamen who live in Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and South Tyneside and all places within 5 miles of the River Tyne.

The charity also helps the partners of deceased seafarers who are in need.

Who is eligible?

Grants for people who have worked on a ship who live in Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside and South Tyneside and all places within 5 miles of the River Tyne and need financial assistance.

The widows of deceased seamen in the North East can also apply.

Email or write to the charity explaining what you need support with, and details of your experience working on a ship

Other information

The institution also administers The Master Mariners Homes in North Shields which are available for former seafarers or the partners of deceased seamen.
