The Walcot Foundation

Grants for Lambeth residents who are from a low-income household and need financial assistance to study or to gain employment.

What we fund:

  • Extra costs associated with a degree course, a vocational/non-degree course up to NVQ level 4 or an apprenticeship
  • A scholarship for three Lambeth-resident Black and Minority Ethnic pupils from low-income homes who gain a place at a Russell Group University
  • Residents who have been out of work for much of the last five years and haven't gained a degree or NVQ-4 (or equivalent) vocational qualification in the last ten years

Who is eligible?

Residents who are from a low-income household and need financial assistance to study or gain employment. Read the grant guidance on the Foundation's website for more information.

What we don't fund

  • Anyone who already has a first degree and/ or a vocational qualification (at NVQ-4 or equivalent)
  • Post-graduate studies or second degrees, personal development courses, or career changes
  • Costs relating to starting up your own business or for self-employment
  • The Foundation only helps with child care in certain circumstances.

You will have to provide detailed financial information and may be referred to a budgeting adviser or careers adviser. We provide these services and they are free. 

Other information

The Foundation sometimes provides free budgeting and careers advice to applicants.
