Tilehurst People's Local Charity (also known as Tilehurst Poor's Land Charity)

Small financial grants to those in need, hardship or distress who live in the RG30, RG31 and Theale postcodes (this area of support includes Tilehurst, West Reading, Southcote, Calcot). Grants may be given for a variety of items, such as:

  • Furniture, carpets or electrical goods
  • White goods
  • New clothes and school uniforms
  • Education or retraining.

Who is eligible?

People in need who live in Tilehurst, Holybrook, Theale or West Reading. There is a preference for people who live within post codes RG30 and RG31. However, the charity will still consider applications from people who do not live within these postcodes.

How to apply?

Download an application form from the Tilehurst People's Local Charity website and send it to the postal address or email below: The form should be printed out, completed, signed and dated, and then sent to the contact address or email given on the form. Applications should include:

  • A supporting letter from a caring agency, describing the applicant's personal circumstances - this may help the application.  This can be from an individual such as Social Worker, Housing Support or Resettlement Officer Occupational Therapist, Health Visitor, District Nurse, Probation Officer or G.P; also charities such as Citizens’ Advice Bureau, Launchpad etc.
  • Copies of quotations/bills will be needed before the Trustees make a decision.
