Walking with the Wounded (Manchester, North West England and North Wales)

Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) is a charity that is dedicated to raising funds to assist wounded ex Service Personnel with their re-training and re-education.

The Manchester, North West England and North Wales office helps wounded ex Service Personnel living in: Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Midlands, Cumbria, Cheshire, Merseyside, Wirral, North Wales, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Norfolk.


WWTW has four key programmes, each one addressing a barrier to employment for a veteran:

  • Head Start to support those with mental health difficulties

  • Project Nova which works with veterans in police custody

  • Home Straight for homeless veterans

  • First Steps for those without the necessary training or qualifications for their civilian career.

The charity can also offer temporary housing, training courses, advice, mentoring, coaching and links to employments.

Who is eligible?

Physically or mentally wounded and venerable ex Service Personnel living in: Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire, Midlands, Cumbria, Cheshire, Merseyside, Wirral, North Wales, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Norfolk.

WWTW assesses homelessness, unemployment and mental health.
