Walton On Thames Charity

Walton On Thames Charity gives grants to residents of the Borough of Elmbridge who are going through financial difficulties, and are receiving means tested benefits such as Universal Credit.

Grants are given for items such as:

•Household funding, such as essential furniture and white goods

• Funding for children and young people, such as school uniforms, school trips and extra-curricular activities

• Assisting with training and associated costs, such as childcare costs, for those trying to move into paid employment from benefits.

  • Helping bridge the gap when moving into paid employment from benefits, such as transport funding (bicycles or public transport).

Who is eligible?

To be able to apply, you must:

  • Be a resident of the borough of Elmbridge
  • Be going through financial difficulties
  • Be in receipt of Means Tested benefits such as Job Seekers Allowance and Universal Credit

What we can't help with

  • Assistance with degree course tuition fees
  • Assistance with post-graduate qualifications
  • Anything that is provided thorough statutory funding
  • Holidays
  • Non essential furniture or household items
  • Rent deposits, rent in advance or rent arrears
  • Debts
  • Funeral costs

How to apply?

If you are applying for a school uniform grant, then you can contact Walton on Thames Charity directly. 

If you are applying for anything else, please don't apply directly. Instead, a recognised organisation, such as Citizens Advice, children's centres or the local authority should apply on their behalf. 

The organisation should refer you via the Walton Charity website

Once you have sent in your application, you should know the outcome within a week.
