Women’s Continuing Ministerial Education Trust (formerly The Deaconess Trust Funds)

Educational grants for any woman, ordained or not, who is Licensed into a Nationally Recognised Ministry in the Church of England or the Scottish Episcopal Church.

Religious Sisters and retired clergy who are involved in active ministry may also apply.

Grants are given to help with the costs of courses or projects that help the minister in their work or professional development.

Who is eligible?

Ordained women, accredited female lay workers in the Church of England (including Church Army Sisters) and religious sisters (both lay and ordained).

What we can't help with

  • No grants for Readers of Licensed Lay Ministry (LLMs)
  • The Trust does not usually give grants for travel costs or accommodation
  • Grants will not normally be made towards retreats and sabbaticals

Meetings take place quarterly usually in February, April, July and September.
